Assessment of Risk Factors for Primary Open-angle Glaucoma

Introduction: primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG) is a chronic and progressive anterior optic neuropathy characterized by perimetric alterations pathological excavation of the disc in absence other ocular pathologies or congenital anomalies. It usually accompanied an increase intraocular pressure. Gonioscopic examination confirms that iridocorneal angle open. The term "risk factor" defined as condition statistically leading to increased risk occurrence event. purpose our work list main factors POAG.
 Patients Methods: This retrospective study carried out ophthalmology department over period 4 years between January 2018 December 2021, involving one hundred patients with POAG followed consultation.
 Results: These are 100 cases, average age 64.27, male predominance. most found series are: age, hypertension (IOH), thin cornea, arterial hypertension, diabetes family history glaucoma.
 Conclusion: identification at individual level major data management. Knowing these helps monitor more carefully adjust treatment appropriately likely develop aggravate already known glaucoma. More efforts required for early screening education on communities, especially high-risk population.
